Thoughts for Jan, 2007

This weekend, after launching our kayaks, we were met with awe and wonder as we realized that the section of ocean we were paddling within was frozen. Frozen!
At any rate, it was super fun and the thick fog only added to the experience. We were hesitant to head in the direction of the ferry's whistle with so poor visibility but that left was much to explore still.

It's the Realworld Video library. Curious about what kind of footage we have? Check it out : www.realworldvideo.com
My time's been full of non-stop work/play for at least the last week. It's been great. Built a catalog for a publishing company, been doing photography, climbing, video editing, lots of web stuff, etc.

Sometimes it takes a bit of distance from an idea to really appreciate the value of said idea. Sometimes what seems like inbalance is more a mirror of fears and internal processes than a real lack of equilibrium. These are both realizations only recently realized. I feel I've grown a lot in the new year already and (with helping hands) have brought myself to a place where I have a lot more to appreciate about my world ... and the people I share it with.

So I've had my fun tinkering around with sheet metal, 1/8" and 3/16" steel profiles but now I've decided it's time to move onto the bigger profiles. First up : 1/4".
Picked myself up some 2"x2" square tubing, 1.5"x4" channel and 3"x3" angle. Six pieces in total, all told it weighed in at 185 lbs. Thank you DemX Deconstruction!
Pictured with the new steel are two of my new tools, air-powered die grinders. Thanks Dad!
