Tooling (Apr 27th, 2006)
I decided today that I needed an arbor press. The great thing about having a workshop full of junk is that you can build a lot of things without making a trip anywhere first. So ... 15 custom parts and 4 hours later ....voila!

I had scooped the worm gear driven jack from a thrift store a couple weeks ago and the rest of the chunks of steel were just lying around. Don't know how much pressure it exerts but you can use a big bar to spin it so the only limiter would be the gear teeth. '

Only 364 days until 4:20 (Apr 22nd, 2006)
It's that magical time of the year when the friendly British Columbia pot activists and supporters get together in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery. It's a peaceful event really. Everybody gets together at 4:20pm on April 20th to spark up and then by 5pm everyone's gone to McDonalds, 7-Eleven, Burger King and wherever else they can find to quench their intense muchies.

Shooty Day (Apr 19th, 2006)
I did portrait shoots with five beautiful women today! Five!! It was totally my lucky day.

The photo featured on the right is of Layla, a gorgeous singer/songwriter from Coombs. Check out her website at www.layla.ca.

Lucky Charms (Apr 16th, 2006)
Did my first full-rate product photography shoot yesterday! It was cool. Nothing too challenging, just a few hours of taking pictures of chocolate covered oreos, wine charms and soaps.

It's Easter this weekend! It's far from the event when I was a child but it's still a good reason to get together with friends and/or family and celebrate .....uh..... rabbits laying chocoloate chicken eggs. ; )

Life, the musical (Apr 9th, 2006)
My weekend has been absolutely action packed! A shoot with a belly dancer friend on Friday, Body Gras 2006 Friday night and then the Tree of Hope fundraiser in Nanoose last night. Lots of shooting, lots of friends, lots of music.

There's over 500 images (after culling) on my hard drive from this weekends events. The one I've selected for today's post is my friend Shane Philip, a multi-talented musician for whom I'm developing a new website. Check out his old site : here.

The Art Show (Apr 2nd, 2006)
The members of my studio and I had our first show of the spring/summer 2006 season last night at the Second Floor studio space. There was tons of people, lots of art and I even put up 8 matted prints. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, can't wait for the next one!
